4.4.1 Unblocking Blood Vessels
Cholesterol Buildup
A major buildup of LDL and too little HDL can cause blockages throughout someone's blood vessels. The lack of HDL would cause continuing buildup of LDL because HDL gets rid of LDL throughout the blood stream. LDL causes plaque which would eventually buildup and cause a lack of blood flow through the body. Without regular blood through the body, it could cause heart disease or heart attack because of the lack of oxygenated blood. In order to unclog the blockage someone could get an angioplasty, stent insertion, or a bypass surgery to continue blood flow through the body.
